# Application Capacity

## Record Service Application Servers Capacity <a href="#scalability-applicationcapacity-recordserviceapplicationserverscapacity" id="scalability-applicationcapacity-recordserviceapplicationserverscapacity"></a>

Fabric’s Record Service Application is powered by a PHP/Laravel codebase. While Laravel has many outstanding qualities (including inherent Robust Security Measures), the single-threaded nature of the framework means that each request uses a worker process in the back end.

Once reaching the maximum number of Servers in your environment, API Request times may begin to take longer to receive a response, if that response time extends past 30 seconds, AWS API Gateway will timeout the connection.

To mitigate this, Fabric recommends following the Fabric integration best practices as outlined here:

## Database size and Storage <a href="#scalability-applicationcapacity-databasesizeandstorage" id="scalability-applicationcapacity-databasesizeandstorage"></a>

Fabric uses RDS IOPS provisioning based on Database Size Provisioned in order to increase Database level transaction capacity.

1. The Default Provisioned size of a Live Database is 3GB
2. The largest Data Size being utilized in the Record Service Database is just under 1GB (as of March 29, 2023).
