# Accessibility

Making digital content accessible to users with disabilities not only ensures that they can use our product, but it also provides a better user experience for everyone.

Since Fabric is a web-based application, accessibility is relatively straightforward to achieve. By following accessibility guidelines and best practices, our developers and designers make Fabric more usable for people with a wide range of disabilities. Please refer to the sections below for additional details.<br>

## **Physical impairment**

* We try to keep a clean layout in all pages within the application.
* It is possible to operate the application without the use of a mouse or similar pointing device.
* These browser settings can help improve the experience of users with reduced mobility:

## **Visual impairment**

* Fabric is compatible with screen reading and text-to-speech software.
* When navigating the product, users can utilise the browser’s zoom or visual accessibility software (e.g. for magnification).
* We avoid cluttered and complex page structures.
* Our navigation mechanisms are straight-forward.
* We avoid poor contrast between content and background.

## **Auditory Impairment**

* Users can enable live captions on their browser, and these will display whenever audio is playing in the application (e.g. in the `Videos` tab):

<figure><img src="https://1453363788-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FPS7xvtVOuEwjKjl1m1Xs%2Fuploads%2FBwD1euLpxNClycpUdw8p%2FScreenshot%202023-04-06%20at%2016.13.58.png?alt=media&amp;token=e86dcbf4-cf1d-44e6-a2de-4a5ce38c4b30" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## **Colour Blindness**

* We aim to present our graphics in a way that is readable by all users, paying special attention to the contrast between foreground and background.
* Certain areas of the application can be configured to display specific colours.
* Accessibility software such as the [CB Corrector Chrome Extension](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cb-corrector/ppinepfokblhbndnoejoaeojebmbchpc/) can be used to alter the look of Fabric to suit the user.

## **Dyslexia**

* User permissions can be configured to hide unnecessary areas of the application to users with dyslexia or learning disabilities.
* Fabric is compatible with extensions like [Immersive Reader](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/use-immersive-reader-on-w/fmidkjgknpkbmninbmklhcgaalfalbdh).
* We endeavour to use simple and clear terminology throughout the product.

At Fabric, we strive to continuously improve our products. If you have feedback regarding accessibility, please do not hesitate to contact us at <feedback@fabricdata.com>.
