# Display IDs

The Display ID feature in Record Builder → IDs allows you to surface key identifiers directly in the record header for quick reference. This helps users easily locate important IDs without navigating.

## Enable Display ID

* Navigate to **Record Builder → IDs**.
* Locate the **Display ID** toggle.
* Turn the toggle **on** to show the selected ID in the record header.

**Note:**

* By default, only **one Display ID** can appear in the header.

### Show Multiple IDs (Additional Display ID)

If your workflow requires more than one identifier:

1. Enable **Additional Display ID** in the IDs section.
2. Once enabled, users can **hover over the ID component** in the record header to view the extra identifiers.

**Behavior:**

* The primary ID remains visible at all times.
* Additional IDs are accessible via hover, keeping the header clean while still providing quick access to important metadata.

### Best Practices

* Use **Display ID** for the most critical identifier (for example, an external or industry-standard ID).
* Enable **Additional Display ID** only when multiple identifiers are necessary to avoid visual clutter.
