# Growing List

**Growing List** is a feature that enables users to add new dropdown values on-the-fly when the desired value isn't available in the managed list.

However, this functionality is not supported for certain out-of-the-box lists, such as **Languages**. For these more complex lists, the **Growing List** option will appear inactive.

To use a Growing List as your field enumeration, the field must be a **chip selector**. Learn more about chip selectors here.

Here’s an example of how a Growing List will appear:
