# Credits Bulk Ingest

We’ve made it easier than ever to ingest a bulk set of credits into records. The Credits Ingest workflow allows you to upload a CSV, configure roles and languages, and automatically match contributors

### Accessing Credits Ingest

Navigate to **Fabric Preferences → Data Ingest** and open the **Credits – Data Ingest** section.

From here, you can launch the uploader and begin configuring your import.

### Configure Your Upload

Before uploading your CSV, define the structure of your credits:

#### Required Setup

* **Select number of languages required**\
  Choose all languages that should appear in the uploader.
* **Select number of contributor roles required**\
  Determine how many contributor columns should be generated per role.

This configuration ensures your CSV aligns correctly with the ingest template.

### Upload Your CSV / Manually Enter Data

#### Steps

1. Upload your CSV into the uploader or manually enter data
2. Add Record Meta ID, contributor names into the appropriate columns.
3. Proceed through the validation flow to review entries.
4. Complete the import once all checks pass.

{% hint style="info" %}
Use a pipe (`|`) in the **Character Name** column when one contributor has multiple character names for the same role on a single record.

Example: `Bruce Wayne | Batman`
{% endhint %}

## Automatic Contributor Matching

The system automatically checks contributor names against the database and links them to the correct contributor whenever possible.

#### Auto-Matching Rules

{% hint style="info" %}
As of v26.1.1 - Auto-Matching is only triggered when loading a Pre-filled CSV or Excel Sheet. Manual Changes will not trigger auto-match rules.
{% endhint %}

| Scenario                   | System Behavior                                                                                                                                        |
| -------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Single EXACT match** | Contributor is automatically linked and imported. |
| **Multiple EXACT matches** | UI displays **“Multiple Contributors found”** so you can select the correct one. By default the first contributor from the list will be auto selected. |
| **Zero EXACT matches** | A **new contributor is created** during import. |

### Key Benefits

* Faster bulk credit ingestion
* Reduced manual contributor mapping
* Built-in validation before import
* Intelligent contributor matching
