# Collections

## Introduction to Collections

Collections are a vital aspect of Fabric's functionality. They contain records that are grouped based on different business rules, such as intellectual property (e.g. Franchises) or editorial decisions (e.g. “Christmas Collection”). Users can navigate the information and records pertaining to collections from this area of the application.
