# Integrating with Fabric Studio

Fabric Studio is built to handle many of the complex tasks and functions required to manage media and entertainment metadata at scale. However, many customers need to integrate Fabric Studio into a larger media supply chain workflow, or require specific custom actions. To address these scenarios Fabric Studio provides a [RESTful API](https://api.fabricdata.com/docs/fabric/83d3097deedd5-introduction) for performing many application functions and a message queue for automatically taking action on events that occur in Fabric Studio.

## :handshake:   Recommended Integration Pattern

When incorporating Fabric Studio into a larger media supply chain workflow or building a custom integration, we recommend you follow [Event Driven Architecture (EDA)](https://serverlessland.com/event-driven-architecture/intro?ref=search) design patterns.

In many cases Fabric Studio is both a *Producer* (creator or source of *Events*) and a *Consumer* (listening for and processing *Events)*. *Events* represent changes in state in a system. For example, when a title record is created or updated in Fabric Studio. Events produced by Fabric Studio are sent to an [Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS)](/fabric-knowledge-base/api/integrating-with-fabric-studio/amazon-simple-notification-service-sns.md) Topic:
